19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to question if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

He rescued 4 initial chances in a tight final set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
