2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the upcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Leadership Transition Comes After Mixed Feedback
The new appointee assumes the leadership position at 31st Union following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's underwhelming unveiling last autumn.
Recently, 2K president David Ismailer informed employees about this strategic move through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had revealed the requirement for a clearer direction.
The president expressed that the team is now refining the project with a renewed approach, aiming to address gamer demands.
Trend of Key Hires
The news echoes a similar action taken by the publisher in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to assist with the beloved franchise development group.
Here is the entire message from Ismailer's communication:

Title Details and Vision
Project Ethos was announced in last year alongside a community playtest. Initially, the developers portrayed the title as a "no-cost, 3rd-person roguelike hero shooter and an innovative evolution on the category."
"Build your perfect run—or die trying—in this 3rd-person action shooter! Build your hero in real-time to suit your personal playstyle," the description states. "Challenge the competition with unique powers, stakes, and tests that shift every match. Will you withdraw carefully with your valuable rewards? Alternatively aim high, risk it all, and pray your squad can secure victory? The decision is yours."
Project Ethos has not yet received an official debut schedule or platforms, but fans can anticipate more updates as development progresses.
